At our Fall All Church Meeting the Council revealed, after months of listening and discerning, three priorities for 2013. These three priorities represent three areas of particular opportunity and interest we have. Our desire is see these areas taken to their next level. The first step in this process is to identify what questions we ought to be asking.
Worship
What is worship? What role does worship play in community? What is the purpose of gathering weekly to "worship"?
Students
What needs do students (6th-12th grade) have that a church community can uniquely address? What does a church need in order to effectively address the needs of students? What is the right balance between providing a safe, separate space for students to "do life together" and providing opportunities for students to "do life together" alongside adults?
Community Life
When does a "group" become a "community"? What is distinctive about a church community? What does it mean to be "the Body of Christ"?
I invite you contribute your own questions here on our blog. In January of 2014, we will look back and see our progress and growth.
